Laser pen batteries and charger

Spare PowerFox 18650 (6800 mAh) and 16340 (1800 mAh) batteries and the PowerFox charger for the Starlight Pro laser pointers. Check below which battery fits your laser.

The right batteries for your laser pen

Every laser we sell comes with its battery – and the Pro models with a charger – so you can use it straight out of the box. This page is for spares: a second cell for a long night of stargazing, a replacement after years of use, or a second PowerFox charger so you can charge at your desk, in the car or from a power bank. Every Pro laser comes with 1 battery; extra batteries can be added when you order.

Charging lithium-ion cells safely

  • Use a charger made for 18650/16340 lithium-ion cells, such as the PowerFox charger supplied with your laser. It charges one battery at a time.
  • Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface and do not leave charging cells unattended for long periods.
  • Insert cells the right way round: plus to plus. Never use a cell with a damaged wrapper or dents.
  • Carry loose cells in a case, never loose in a pocket with keys or coins.
  • Take used cells to a battery recycling point; do not put them in household waste.

Not sure whether a rechargeable or an AAA laser suits you better? Read rechargeable vs AAA laser pen. All our lasers are in all laser pointers.

When is it time for a new cell?

Lithium-ion cells slowly lose capacity over the years. If a fully charged cell runs flat much sooner than it used to, or the dot looks weak straight after charging, it is time for a fresh one. For the pens, a dim dot simply means new AAA batteries.

Frequently asked questions

Which battery does the G3 Pro use?
One rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion cell, included with the laser. An extra PowerFox 18650 battery can be added to your order.
Can I charge 16340 batteries with the PowerFox charger?
Yes. The PowerFox charger takes both 18650 and 16340 batteries and charges one battery at a time. It is the same charger that comes with every Pro laser.
Which batteries go in the X1 laser pen?
Two AAA batteries. Two powerful AAA batteries are included with the laser; replacements are available in any shop.
