G1 Pro: a green laser pointer with something extra

The G1 Pro is a full-size rechargeable green laser pointer with one feature that sets it apart: a removable pattern lens. Use it with the plain dot for pointing, stargazing or bird control, and fit the lens when you want to project a pattern indoors or across the garden on a summer evening. It is also the green laser inside our Pro set with the R1 Pro and V1 Pro.

The G1 Pro is a Starlight Lasers model with an aluminium body, a rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion cell, a charger and two safety keys. The output is up to 1 mW, laser class 2 – the class intended for sale to the public in the UK – and each unit is measured before dispatch.

Two lasers in one

• Dot mode: the same bright 532 nm dot you would expect from a green Pro laser, for long distances at dusk and in the dark.
• Pattern mode: the pattern lens spreads the light for decorative use at short range, and turning it switches between about 3 patterns – think a wall at a party or a garden on a summer evening.

Charging

Charge the 18650 battery fully in the supplied PowerFox charger before you first use the G1 Pro; the battery comes out of the laser to charge. With normal use one charge lasts at least about a month. You can add an extra PowerFox 18650 2-pack to your order, and a second PowerFox charger charges from any mains socket. Store the laser with the safety key removed.

Who should choose the G1 Pro?

Anyone who wants a serious, lockable green laser and enjoys the option of patterns. If you know you will only ever use the dot, the G3 Pro is our most chosen Pro model. If size matters, the compact G2 Pro is 12 cm long. Compare them on rechargeable green laser pointers.

Safety

Patterns or not, this is a laser. Never aim at eyes, people, animals' eyes, vehicles or aircraft, watch out for reflective surfaces, and keep it locked and out of reach of children. Shining a laser at a vehicle or aircraft is a criminal offence in the UK. More on laser pointer safety.
